Telling the bees
Beekeepers have a tradition of informing bees about important world events, such as deaths, births, marriages, departures,
and returns, in order to maintain harmony and prevent misfortune.
For many cultures around the world, bees are considered sacred messengers or spiritual beings, connecting the worlds.
Telling the Bees is both a fountain and a curtain; the bees are already dead, and water flows over illuminated minerals, stones, and gemstones.
The installation evokes the form of a ritual and a portal.
